The technology and science concerned with the reproducible manufacturing and probing of quantum architectures of individual atomic and molecular units on surfaces is gaining speed: This is due to, on the one hand, recent experimental breakthroughs in this field and, on the other hand, increasing demand from other research areas, in particular from quantum engineering technology and quantum computing.
The conference will be held from September 10th to 14th, 2017, at the conference center monte verita. It is situated in the south of Switzerland (Canton Ticino) on top of a small mountain with the nickname "Mountain of Truth" i.e. Monte Verità linking to its past.
For the best poster/contributed oral presentation at the conference, the conference will award one young scientist with a prize of CHF 500, together with a certificate and a small Monte Verità memento. To be eligible for the award, the participant must be under 33 years old and either a PhD student or someone who has accomplished doctoral degree within the last 3 years.
